Rick Chafey is founder and managing member of Red Rock Design Build. He started the company in 1998 following several years working in various construction trades, while earning his Bachelors of Science degree in Construction Engineering & Management from Arizona State University in 1995. At an early age, Rick demonstrated a knack for skilled manual labor and a talent for learning. He started out working summers during high school as a residential framer, and later with stucco and concrete crews. He became an electrical superintendent and later a superintendent for a leading U.S. homebuilder, all while still an undergraduate. After graduating, he was hired as director of construction for a large manufacturing company. It wasn’t long before he set out to create a company that reflected his background and vision for the future. Rick’s diverse experience and insatiable thirst for knowledge has manifested in the rise of Red Rock to its current status as a versatile and highly respected force in the custom design and construction market. Working across a spectrum of residential and commercial construction genres, the company embodies Rick’s spirit of problem-solving and innovation, and brings those vast resources to fruition in service of the company’s diverse and often-elite client base.
